President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma met face-to-face with President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasongo visiting Ukraine from September 16 to September 18.
During the conversation, the Parties stated their mutual interest in and preparedness to intensifying trade and economic relations.
In the course of the meeting, there were discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation, specifically in the fields of power engineering, transportation, industrial engineering, house-building, agricultural engineering, resource development, petroleum production and oil processing.
There were also discussed possibilities of rendering Ukraine´s technical assistance to Equatorial Guinea, as well as prospects of cooperation in the field of education.
Leonid Kuchma and Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasongo supported intensified development of contractual basis of relationship between Ukraine and Equatorial Guinea.
Upon the enlarged negotiations, there were signed the following documents:
- Joint declaration of principles of relationship between Ukraine and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea,
- Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and Government of Equatorial Guinea on military and technical cooperation,
- Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and Government of Equatorial Guinea on mutual recognition of diplomas,
- Agreement on cooperation in the field of education and science between the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.
